Yes. During the first four weeks of classes, if your child is not enjoying the program you may cancel their membership and receive a full refund, minus a $20 administrative fee.
Dropout Deadline: After the fourth class Karate Kids Canada no longer provides a refund. Part of the reason for this is that if a child has been enjoying the class up until this point we want to help them complete their commitment to their goal of earning their next level Karate Belt! We want to help strengthen “the muscle and habit of commitment”. The more times a child practices sticking with something the have started, even when new distractions arise, they are building the habit of commitment and follow through. This is an extremely important character trait to help students develop to make success in other areas of life more achievable.
Why is there a deadline to withdraw my child?
One of the values we strive to teach is commitment to reaching a goal and to remain focused on the bigger reward of accomplishment. This is a valuable lesson for young students who may easily get distracted when new options arise and want to quit to play outside with their friends for a recess or two. However, we feel that letting a student quit at this stage of the program is a disservice to a child’s development of achievement and goal setting later in life. Therefore our instructors will do all they can to coach and engage students to "stay the course" who may have a moment of distraction.
Children often need support to develop this character trait, which will later serve them well on their path to other successes in life! We always request the parent’s support to keep their child focused on the end reward of graduating with their team mates and achieving a higher-level belt which will bring them a great deal of pride.

When students ask us if they can wear their uniform from another Martial Arts class they have been at we always ask them back: "Would a baseball player joining the Blue Jays wear their other league’s uniform? Of course not!" We strive to create a team environment so it is important that all of our participants wear the Karate Kids uniform. However, we do encourage students to wear their own coloured belt that they have already earned in their previous training.
